Got up after tea feeling better.
Letter from Thomas dated March 26th.
Still at Alexandria but expecting to be
moved shortly. Said he heard Corbet
Singleton
was at Cairo & was sorry he
did not know when he was up there.
Capt Arnold 6th R.D.F. is with them
but has no later news of you.
He hoped to get out as far as Aboukir
He enclosed a photo of four of his pals
& himself which is not too bad.
Also an account of their doings on
St Patrick Day 1 same as appeared in
the Irish Times 2

Editorial Notes

1St Patrick is the Patron Saint of Ireland. St Patrick's Day is celebrated each year on March 17th. There was usually a festive dinner held in all the Irish regiments in the British Army on this day.
2Irish newspaper of record, conservative and unionist in its political sympathies.
