Went to town after lunch & shopped
Met Uncle Larry his baby has only
just been vaccinated. I expect they
will have a lively time.
Violet arranged to meet Aunt Eveleen
to go see the Picture of the King
presenting shamrock to the Irish Guards 1
but of course they were so late & came
in for everything but what they wanted
to see & were late for dinner.
I also met Girlie Mooney in town
she reports Willie almost recovered
from his operation & is to get home
tomorrow.
Ethel went to tea with the Morans.
Jack is home on leave looking
very fit.
Editorial Notes1The Irish Guards, part of the Guards Division, is a Foot Guards regiment of the British Army. On St Patrick's Day, the traditional regimental celebration, fresh shamrock is presented to the members of the regiment, no matter where it is stationed.
