Called in Dr Beatty, he failed to
diagnos[e] an[y] disease but is to call
again tomorrow as it looks very
like German measles. I must take
precautions & have written Beatrice
not start on Tuesday but await
wire.
Retreat finished up with usual
ceremonial. Church crowded. Violet
& I were given front seats in the
limelight near the Altar.
Aunt Sissy & Uncle Charlie called
& had the eldest child of Frank
Egan
with them. We had to leave
the kid with York for fear there
might be infection in the house.
Aunt Eveleen went for a consti—
tutional 1 on the pier.
