{"id":669,"date":"2016-11-24T13:41:39","date_gmt":"2016-11-24T13:41:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dh.tcd.ie\/dh\/?p=669"},"modified":"2016-11-24T13:41:39","modified_gmt":"2016-11-24T13:41:39","slug":"dariah-appoints-jennifer-edmond-to-board-of-directors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dh.tcd.ie\/index.php\/2016\/11\/24\/dariah-appoints-jennifer-edmond-to-board-of-directors\/","title":{"rendered":"DARIAH appoints Jennifer Edmond to Board of Directors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr Jennifer Edmond, Co-Director of the TCD Centre for Digital Humanities, has been announced as one of two new members of the Board of Directors of DARIAH-EU &#8211; the Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities (<a href=\"http:\/\/dariah.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.dariah.eu<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For DARIAH Jennifer currently serves as one of the two heads of the Virtual Competence Center &#8220;Research and Education&#8221;. Additionally she represents the consortium in the Open Science Policy Platform (OSPP), where she supports the European Commission in developing an Open Science Policy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;I am thrilled to have been named to the Board of Directors of the DARIAH ERIC&#8221;, Jennifer Edmond commented on her appointment. &#8220;Throughout my long involvement with the organisation I have been continually impressed not only by the vibrancy of the community but also by the importance of the work it does. As technology becomes more and more a part of not just science policy but also lived experience, we will only see the importance of DARIAH grow. I look forward to being a part of this development over the coming years, and to helping DARIAH to extend its activities to support an ever widening circle of scholarship.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to its statutes the DARIAH-ERIC has three part-time directors. Together they are responsible for the day-to-day operations of DARIAH. They consult the Senior Management Team and are supported by the DARIAH-EU Coordination Office.
